This season, perhaps more than any other time of the year, is a time of traditions passed from generation to generation. Whether it’s when decorations are set up, the tree is chosen, which goodies are made, we have many traditions we pass down. The greatest gift of the season - the gift of Jesus – was a gift wrapped in generations – from the prophets of old to Mary, Joseph and beyond. This Advent and Christmas season we will let the Christmas story weave through our generations joining us in God’s love always unfolding. May we remember that we belong to a story etched into the wrinkles of time, to generations that have come before and will come after, to a love that won’t let us go.
